Dr Kalaivany Nagappan
Pannisai Paadasaalai is an initiative by Dr.Kalaivany Nagappan. Well known as the former Bernama News caster and host of ASTRO TV program, Dr. Kalaivany is the sole director of Impian Irama Sdn Bhd, the company that manages the school.
She has been trained in both Thirumurai and Indian classical music from the age of 7. She is trained by world renowned othuvar Dr.Thirugnyaana Balachandar who is the head of Thevaram Department at Annamalai University, Sithambaram, Tamil Nadu.
She took Carnatic vocal training from Mr Darmalinggam and Srimathi Barathisharma. Her participation in various Thirumurai and Carnatic music competitions, as well as stage performances has further strengthened her singing skill.
Dr.Kalaivany has completed PhD in Human Communication (UPM) and was a former lecturer at Taylor’s University, Monash University and Segi Univerrsity. Thus, both her academic qualification and her work experience as a lecturer, have provided the competency and confidence to create a program and syllabus for Pannisai Paadasaalai as well as manage it.

Geetha Vijayendran
Pannisai Paadasaalai, the Kuala Lumpur branch (commonly known as Jalan Ipoh branch) is an initiative by Geetha Vijayendran. She is a successful entrepreneur who is the founder and owner of Red Scale recycling company.
As the current graduate student of Pannisai Paadasalai, Geetha wanted the knowledge and skills she has gained during her 4 years course at Pannisai Paadasaalai to reach and benefit the Klang Valley Thirumurai community as well. Hence now she has established the Kuala Lumpur branch in 2024 and managing it successfully.

Our Teachers
Malathi Nagappan
Malathi Nagappan has been reciting thirumurai since she was a child. For a brief duration in 2013, she had the opportunity to learn Thirumurai in Chidambaram. At the age of eight, she began learning Carnatic music from Smt. Rajeswary Rajaratnam and late Smt Vijayalakshmi Kulavirasingam. Currently, she is receiving lessons from Smt. Vijayalakshmi Arumugam. Malathi has been teaching Thirumurai since 2019 until now. Her experience includes judging competitions and training both students and adults for thirumurai recitals.
Uvitra Shanmugalingam
Uvitra Shanmugalingam started singing thevaram at the age of 5 and took part in many thevaram competitions. She won the first gold medal for Negeri Sembilan in Malaysia Hindu Sangam Thevaram competition in 1996 when she was six years old. She developed the passion for singing as her grandmother and mother were good thevaram and sangeetham singers. To further enhance her knowledge in singing, she started sangeetham classes and completed up to 12 varnams. She continues her passion for singing thevaram by learning at Pannisai Paadasalai.
Thanushree Kannan
Thanushree Kannan started her training in Thevaram and Sangeetham at the age of 6. She participated in Hindu Sangam Thirumurai competitions from the age of 6 till 20. Both her vocal training and the experience of singing in competitions up to national level have formed her into a competent singer, especially in the field of Thirumurai. She is actively performing in Thevaram and devotional concerts in temples. Thanushree is currently pursuing her degree in Bachelor's in Information Technology.
Kanniyaashree
Kanniyaashree commenced her singing journey at the tender age of 6, actively participating in numerous competitions, shows and kathcheri . Remarkably, she achieved the distinction of being the champion for Pathigam in the Malaysia Hindu Sangam Thevaram competition. Kanniyaashree describes herself as a semi-classical singer who can sing carnatic and melodius songs as the best. She has strong and versatile vocal and music knowledge with more than 10 years of experience. She has also participated in one of the well-known competiton in Malaysia which is BIG STAGE and showcased her talent exceptionally well.
Rukshana Ranjini Segaran
Started learning Thirumurai and Saiva Siddhantham since the age of 9 under the guidance of Dr. Nagappan Arumugam . Besides that, took up Sangeetham lessons from Guru Shri Vijayavani S. Subramaniam and took up Bharathanatyam lessons under the guidance of Guru Shri Mathi Suthysvary Subramanian also at the age of 9. Been learning on enhancing Pannisai under the guidance of Dr. Kalaivany Nagappan since 2019.
Thavakumary Rajamani
Ms. Thavakumary Rajamani has been teaching in Tamil school for the past 15 years. She majors in Tamil Language. She has joined the Panisai Paadasaalai’s teachers team as a Tamil teacher since 2021. She teaches tamil language for both Tamil school and Non Tamil school students. She is a committed teacher and very consistent in her performance.
